Sales

I started my career in April '00 as a marketing analyst for a small distribution company in Bangalore. The challenge was to establish the companies distrubtion network for Castrol Industrial Products and increase the client base in their electrical contracting business.

It was a whole new world for me. After graduating in commerce and wondering how to build my profile way up to my dream. I was always a guy who never followed the tradiotional route and was challenged by my surroundings constantly. I enjoyed it and also gave me the right fire to streamline my energies.

The goal was clear to me with this organisation. This was an organisation which had a need to increase its revenue and their new business offerings, and I was a candidate who wanted the right exposure and place where I could channelise my energies. It was a win win combination.

This is the way I went about building the revenue channel for this company :

  • Identitfy the market in Bangalore
  • Understand the products of Castrol
  • Define the logistics process for delivery channel
  • Streamline the payment process
The timming was just right as we entered into a market where there was competition but also the industrial sector was in a boom. The tooling industry was the major consumer of the specialised castrol products.

I learnt from driving a truck to lifting a barrel to meet and deliver our clients at the right time.

These were the times when I was always wondering what next and how I should shape myself up to my dream job.

I had completed around 2 years working for the organisation . We had achieved considerable growth and there was a steady revenue flow. I was getting saturated and was constrained with a lot of energy to do something new , this is when I decided is the time to get back to school. Always wanted to learn commercial tricks and wanted to pursue a Masters in Finance.
